The Crossbeam X40 is the foundation for Crossbeam's integrated security solutions. This high performance, high availability security services switch lets customers consolidate complex security infrastructures while preserving and strengthening their security policies.The Crossbeam X40 is the first high performance, highly available, multi-security engine platform available to enterprise and service provider customers. • Redundant everything, from interfaces and application processors to fans, power supplies, and backplanes

• The industry's first "Flow Sequencing" feature allows users to define the sequence in which security engines process flows; supports both serialized and parallelized processing

The X40 Security Services Switch

The X40 security services switch is a chassis-based platform that includes Network Processing Modules (NPM), Application Processing Modules (APM), and Control Processing Modules (CPM). The system is built on a super high-speed switching fabric architecture that is comprised of two data switches and two control switches (for separation of user/control traffic, and for complete redundancy).
